The 6th grade basketball teams had a good night as they took on the Davidson Sandies at our high school gym. Both teams won their games but it was tough going for the boys against a speedy Sandies squad. The girls won going away at 25-5 while the boys had to pull it out in the 4th quarter to win 23-16. To show a sense of sportsmanship and fair play everyone plays at this level. Coaches Classie Nolan and Lyle Clayton do very well in that r e s p e c t .

Congratulations to all.

The scoring attack for the girls was led by Deighton Howell. She is lightning quick and knows what to do with the ball when it comes her way.

Deighton led all scorers with 6 points. She was followed closely by Brooklyn Johnson and Ashlyn Brite who had 5 points apiece. Bailey Sebree had a good night as she scored a pair of baskets to finish with 4 points.

Vanessa Skinner made a free throw and a shot from the field to put 3 points in the book. Asia Stewart wasn't to be left out and scored 2 points for the Lady Bombers. The Frederick defense played equally well and held the Lady Sandies to just 5 points. The final was 25-5 for the Lady Bombers.

The boys were ahead 11-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and it looked like a rout. That wasn't to be, however, as the Bombers diosn't score at all in the next two periods and the Sandies stormed back to take the lead going into the 4th. The Bombers first team came back in and sealed the deal as the Bombers won the game 23-16. The action was fast and furious with two good teams showing their stuff. Scoring for the Bombers was a bit spotty but Juan Cervantes led the Bombers with a total of 10 points.

Juan continually snuck inside the Davidson defense to get those close range buckets.

Faith Cardoso finished the night with 5 points followed closely by Brayden Kinder with 4. Deyone Miller and Maguire Perrett each put 2 points in to helpthe Bomber cause.
